EGERTON fire-fighting tug.
O.N. 721937. 195g. 57n. 29.01 x 8.51 x 6.3 metres.
As built: 8-cyl. 4 S.C.S.A. (260 x 280mm) Crepelle 8SN1 type engine by Crepelle et Cie., Lille, geared to a single forward mounted Voith-Schneider type multi-directional propulsion unit. 1,500bhp. 12½ kts. 18 tons bollard pull.
13.12.1969: Launched as SUBTIL by Ziegler Freres, Dunkirk (Yard No. 165), for Societe de Remorquage et de Sauvetage du Nord, France.
1.8.1970: Completed (error in yard number and dates in LR until corrected in 1995).
1991: Purchased by Alexandra Towing Company Ltd. and renamed EGERTON.
1.1.1996: Owners restyled as Howard Smith Towage Ltd.
8.10.2001: Owners restyled as Adsteam Towage Ltd.
5.2002: Sold to T.P. Towage Company Ltd. (Tom Penalver, manager), Gibraltar.
11.2010: Still in service.
