AWARUA 1932: Lobnitz, Renfrew

A Pilot Tender/ tug for the Bluff Harbour Board in New Zealand she was launched on June 2nd 1932 being completed later in the year. She served till 1973 when she was converted to a crayfishing depot for full freezing fish and store supply at Cascade Cove, Dusk Sound.
On December 19th 1989 she was scuttled as an artificial reef in Foveaux Strait. One of her engines is preserved as a working exhibit in the Bluff Maritime Museum [/attachment]
