Similar to the first photo - this was a colour transparency, the first photo was a colour negative.

Yes - you can see the Hugh McLean & Sons building across on the Renfrew side, and what I think was Drysdale's factory just to the West of Elderslie, i.e. at Yoker.

Apparently she is under tow to Alang for breaking up. There are efforts being made to try and save her but it looks as if the time has come for this long lived Clydebank product to depart the scene.

Cruised on her a couple of times, the last back in October 2001 just after 9/11 when she was in her last year or so of service with P&O as "Victoria". Beautiful ship and certainly way ahead in ambience compared to any of the monster monstrosities in service today. Sad to see her go but I suppose it had to happen one day.

A memory of her as SEA PRINCESS on Southampton Water courtesy Mike Redmayne. RED OSPREY had more or less entered service.
