Training up

Post by Deepol » Sun May 08, 2011 8:59 pm

Brush Type 4 D1527 shunting the afternoon Edinburgh parcels vans at Queen Street in June 1963. She was based temporarily at Haymarket for driver training and later became 47423 in the renumbering scheme.
She was suceeded by D1508 and the second pic shows her in February 1964 working the 11am to Kings Cross the Queen of Scots Pullman. 47409 was her Class 47 number in later years.

I took this 56 years ago at Haymarket on August 4th 1963 of D1527 which was the Haymarket training loco for the new Brush Type 4s.

1A22 was a Kings Cross to Edinburgh service in the days before 1E and 1S headcodes were adopted for ECML Anglo Scottish trains.
