HMS ARDENT (F184)

Built by Yarrow Shipbuilders and Commisioned 13th. October 1977

Sunk during the Falklands War by Argentine aircraft on 22nd. May 1982.

Thanks for posting riverman, Went on board her in my late teens when she was Millford Haven's adopted warship I think in 1978 at Milford Docks a sad end for a fine warship.

All 3 grey navy ships named Ardent built in the last Century were lost in action.
All 3 were built on the Clyde by different builders.

Perhaps it was just as well the "A" Class Submarine to be built in 1945 by Vickers was cancelled then.......

An interesting fact none the less.
