'Sapphire Princess' strikes whale - Alaska

The cruise ship 'Sapphire Princess', Princess Cruises, on a passage from Ketchikan to Juneau, struck a whale, thought to be a juvenile humback, which became impaled on her bows. The vessel had to come to a stop South of Douglas Island to allow the whale's carcass to be removed.

Angus, the last report we had on the famous bloomers suggested they had blown across to Iceland in a fierce SE gale, with them being asbestos lined (fire precautions) I thought that was why that volcano had gone quiet of late, at least no ash in our direction.
