Apparently it's the annual maintenance outage at Clydeport Hunterston. Seems odd though to have ships waiting so long at anchorage. Not had a good year there so far with accidents then the fire on the jetty.

Cal mac should never have left Fairlie all these years ago. To my memory Glen Sannox never missed a sailing. Don't know why they didn't bid for the NATO base when it came on the market.

Hi Brian, Strange to have shifted from Irvine bay to No 6 anchorage rather than go straight to the berth. Problems with Sammy perhaps.

Does anybody have any inkling when the mitsubishi wind turbine is arriving in to Hunterston. The crane is on site to assemble same so going by crane hire prices i assume it must be relatively soon.

Thanks Calum, I did assume that there was either some kind of tip off or maybe just a random check. Not the first drugs seizure at Hunterston (that's if they did find anything). Cape Maria went along side this morning which makes me wonder did she skip the queue for some reason.

Thanks for the info Douglas. The border force cutters of which their are five in the uk (Vigilant,Valiant,Searcher,Seeker and Protector) all have red, white and blue stripes on the bow, so this reinforces my suspicion that there is something fishy going on. Cape Maria has recently dropped anchor at No6 anchorage. Could there be a problem as most bulkers lie in Irvine bay until there time to berth. Also there are still two bulkers to berth before her. I couldn't see properly earlier as I was driving but there looked to be a vessel alongside (not the pil...

Hear hear. What about the Coastguard. As a Coastguard Rescue Officer can i still be a volunteer with HM Coastguard if the fat controller takes over. And as I work in the Nuclear industry I say give us at least one more Nuclear power station and get shot of the non efficient windy miller towers.
